Hubsek
Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Hubsek (“Hubsek”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects personal information when you use the Hubsek mobile application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Platform”). It applies to customers, Pros (service professionals), and visitors. By using the Platform, you acknowledge this Policy. Where consent is required by law, we will ask for it separately. Please read this Policy together with our Terms of Service.
1. Who we are
Hubsek operates an online marketplace that connects customers with independent Pros for home and lifestyle services (including cleaning, salon and spa at home, AC care, handyman work, pest control, and similar services made available from time to time).
Hubsek does not typically perform the underlying service jobs itself. Pros are independent contractors, not employees of Hubsek, except where required by law.
Privacy inquiries: privacy@hubsek.com
General support: support@hubsek.com
Website: www.hubsek.com
2. Scope of this Policy
This Policy covers personal information processed in connection with:
- The Hubsek iOS and Android mobile apps
- Our websites (including www.hubsek.com) and web pages such as privacy, terms, help, and account deletion
- Customer accounts, Pro applications/accounts, bookings, messaging, payments, support, and marketing (where permitted)
- Device permissions you enable (location, camera, notifications, and similar)
3. Information we collect
Depending on how you use the Platform, we may collect the following categories of personal information:
- Identity & contact data — name, email address, phone number, profile photo, preferred language, and display name
- Account & authentication data — account IDs, OTP/SMS login events, session tokens, password reset or magic-link events (where used), and sign-in method (phone, Google, Apple, or other enabled methods)
- Pro verification & onboarding data — government ID images or numbers, selfie/face checks, application answers, services offered, rates, availability, Emirates ID or equivalent documents where requested, and verification status
- Booking & service data — service type, schedule, service address/pin, notes, duration, add-ons, prices, payment/cash status, cancellations, reschedules, ratings/reviews, and in-app chat related to jobs
- Location data — precise or approximate location when you allow it (to find nearby Pros, set a service pin, or show maps)
- Device & usage data — device type, operating system, app version, device identifiers, IP address, crash logs, diagnostics, analytics events, referral source, and language/currency preferences
- Payment metadata — tokens, last-four digits, or references from payment providers; we do not store full card numbers on our servers when payments are processed by a PCI-compliant processor
- Communications & support — messages you send to support, dispute details, and related attachments
- Marketing preferences — opt-in/opt-out status and campaign interaction data where applicable
4. How we collect information
We collect personal information in three main ways:
- Directly from you — when you register, complete a profile, book a service, apply as a Pro, upload verification documents, leave a review, chat about a booking, or contact support
- Automatically — through the app, website, and SDKs (for example analytics, crash reporting, maps, and push notification services)
- From third parties — when you use phone/social login, maps autocomplete, identity verification, SMS/OTP providers, or payment services, subject to their policies and your choices
5. Why we use your information (purposes)
We use personal data for the following purposes:
- Create, secure, and manage accounts and authenticate you (including SMS/OTP and social sign-in)
- Match customers with Pros, display availability and rates, and process bookings end to end
- Facilitate payments, cash-on-completion workflows, receipts, refunds/credits where applicable, and related accounting
- Verify Pros, reduce fraud, and maintain marketplace safety and quality
- Enable maps, nearby Pros, service address pinning, and travel/ETA estimates
- Send transactional messages (booking updates, reminders, security alerts) by push, SMS, email, or in-app notice
- Send marketing communications only with consent or as otherwise allowed by law — you can opt out anytime
- Personalize the experience (language, currency, location-based suggestions, recommended services)
- Improve the Platform, troubleshoot issues, run analytics, and develop new features
- Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the rights, property, and safety of Hubsek, users, and the public
- Comply with legal, tax, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations
6. Legal bases for processing
Where required by applicable law (including GDPR-style frameworks), we rely on one or more of the following bases:
- Contract — to provide the Platform and fulfill bookings you request
- Legitimate interests — to secure the Platform, prevent fraud, improve services, and communicate service-related updates, balanced against your rights
- Consent — for optional permissions (such as precise location, camera, marketing, or certain analytics) where consent is required; you may withdraw consent at any time
- Legal obligation — where we must retain or disclose information to meet law, tax, or regulatory requirements
7. Location data
With your permission, we access location to show nearby Pros, set or confirm a service address, and support map features.
You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. Some features (finding Pros near you, accurate address pinning) may not work fully without location access.
Background location is not required for core customer booking unless we clearly disclose otherwise for a specific Pro or safety feature.
We do not sell location data.
8. Camera, photos, biometrics & notifications
Certain features may request additional device permissions:
- Camera / photos — for profile pictures, Pro identity or face verification, or uploading documents. Images are used only for the stated purpose
- Biometric login — if you enable Face ID / fingerprint unlock, biometric templates stay on your device; we store only a local preference/token, not your biometric data itself
- Push notifications — used for booking updates and optional marketing/alerts you enable; you can disable them in device or in-app settings
- Contacts / microphone — only if a future feature clearly requests them and you grant permission; we will update this Policy if that changes
10. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live, including where our cloud providers and vendors operate.
Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as contractual clauses, vendor certifications, or other lawful transfer mechanisms.
By using the Platform from outside those regions, you understand that your data may be transferred as described in this Policy.
11. Data security
We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal data, including:
- Encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS) where applicable
- Access controls and least-privilege practices for staff and systems
- Secure authentication flows (including OTP)
- Monitoring, logging, and vendor security reviews where appropriate
12. Data retention
We keep personal data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, tax, and accounting requirements.
Typical retention examples (which may vary by law and context):
- Active account profile data — retained while the account remains open
- Booking and payment records — may be retained up to 7 years where needed for tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or legal compliance
- Support tickets / deletion request emails — typically up to 2 years to document handling of requests
- Security and audit logs — typically up to 90 days, unless a longer period is needed for an investigation
- Marketing preference records — retained as needed to honor opt-outs
13. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
- Delete your account and related personal data (subject to legal retention needs)
- Export / receive a copy of certain data in a portable format
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
- Opt out of marketing communications
- Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority where applicable
14. How to exercise your rights
You can update much of your profile in the app, manage notification preferences, and control location/camera permissions in device settings.
To exercise privacy rights, email privacy@hubsek.com. For account deletion steps, visit our Delete Account page or email support@hubsek.com with the subject “Hubsek account deletion request”.
We may need to verify your identity before responding. We aim to respond within a reasonable period consistent with applicable law (and typically within 30 days for verified deletion requests).
15. Children’s privacy
The Platform is not directed to children under 18 (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If you believe a child has provided us data, contact privacy@hubsek.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
17. Third-party links & services
The Platform may link to third-party sites or open maps, payment, messaging, app stores, or social login providers. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
We are not responsible for third-party content, outages, or practices beyond our reasonable control. We encourage you to review those policies before providing information to third parties.
18. Automated tools & profiling
We may use automated tools (for example fraud signals, ranking or recommendation of Pros, spam detection, or verification status) to help operate the marketplace.
These tools assist human processes and do not replace Pro or customer judgment about accepting a job.
Contact support if you have questions about a specific automated outcome that significantly affects you.
19. Do Not Sell / targeted advertising
We do not sell personal information as that term is commonly understood.
If we ever use advertising partners that qualify as a “sale” or “share” under specific privacy laws, we will provide required notices and opt-out mechanisms.
20. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and revise the “Last updated” date.
For material changes, we may provide additional notice (email or in-app) where appropriate.
Continued use of the Platform after the effective date means you accept the updated Policy.
